Specialists in Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy
The Kilkenny Osteopathic Clinic has been treating patients from our clinic in Kilkenny City for over 25 years. We are one of Ireland’s leading osteopathic clinics, and just one of a few clinics in Ireland specialising in biodynamic cranial osteopathy.
The practice was founded in 1991 in Kilkenny by Carmel Farrell, a highly qualified osteopath. In 2000, Carmel’s husband Jim Bergin joined the practice after also qualifying as an osteopath.
Carmel and Jim are very much in demand for their skill and experience in treating a wide range of ailments, with the clinic maintaining a high success rate. Our unique treatment has been honed over a combined 50 years of study and practice. We work with children and adults to engage the body’s ability to self-heal and restore function for optimum health.
Carmel Farrell

Registered Osteopath with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland.
Carmel has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, London. Carmel also holds a postgraduate diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy from the Paediatric Osteopathic Clinic in Switzerland.
Over the past 25 years, Carmel has continued her professional studies and clinical development, specialising in biodynamic cranial osteopathy with its founder Dr Jim Jealous. She also regularly attends study groups in Switzerland and the USA to enhance her clinical practice of osteopathy. These extensive studies have given Carmel the best skill set to treat individuals of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly.
Jim Bergin

Registered Osteopath with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Victoria University, Melbourne. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy from the Paediatric Osteopathic Clinic in Switzerland, and a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Osteopathy.
Jim has continued his professional studies and clinical development over the last 20 years. He also specialises in biodynamic cranial osteopathy and trained with Dr Jim Jealous, the founder of this discipline. He regularly attends study groups in Switzerland and the USA to enhance his clinical practice of osteopathy among children and adults.
